    This is a rare June 25th, 1957 program (playbill) from the one-week, Summer Stock engagement of the RICHARD ADLER and JERRY ROSS musical comedy "THE PAJAMA GAME" at the Gateway Playhouse in Somers Point, New Jersey. (The Original Broadway production opened May 13th, 1954 at the St. James Theatre in New York City and ran for 1061 performances.) ..... The musical starred KEN HARVEY, MARION LAUER, JOSEPH LEON, TED BANIADES, GRACE WALLIS HUDDLE, SHARON WELLS, SHEILA WHITELY, ED HOLLEMAN, HARVEY DANIELS and KAARLYN KITCH with sixteen year-old BETH HOWLAND among the ensemble, three years before she would maker her Broadway debut as a replacement in "Once Upon a Mattress" ..... CREDITS: Book by GEORGE ABBOTT and RICHARD BISSELL based on the novel, "7 1/2 Cents" by RICHARD BISSELL; Music and Lyrics by RICHARD ADLER and JERRY ROSS ("Damn Yankees"); Dances by NANCY HACHENBERG based on the Original Choreography of BOB FOSSE; Directed by STANLEY PRAGER; Produced by JONATHAN DWIGHT ..... DETAILS: The sixteen page playbill measures 6" X 9 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
