This is a rare autographed program (playbill) from the Original Off-Broadway production and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the DAVID RABE play "THE BASIC TRAINING OF PAVLO HUMMEL" at the New York Shakespeare Festival Public Theatre's Newman Theatre in New York City. (The production opened May 19th, 1971 and ran for 365 performances. The play would arrive six years later on Broadway, opening April 24th, 1977 at the Longacre Theatre where it would run for 117 performances.) ..... The program's seam is split at both the top and bottom, there is discoloration to the inside pages, minor creasing and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
