    This is a rare November 29th, 1954 playbill from the Post-Broadway engagement of the LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN and ADOLPH GREEN musical comedy "WONDERFUL TOWN" at the Nixon Theatre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (The production opened February 26th, 1953 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and ran for 559 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical starred CAROL CHANNING (who had replaced ROSALIND RUSSELL late in the run) and featured GEORGE GAYNES, BETTY GILLETT, DORT CLARK, DOUGLAS CHANDLER, DON BARTON, ISABELLA HOOPES, TED BENIADES, CAROLE COLE and JORDAN BENTLEY ..... The front cover features DEBOARH KERR who would star in Elia Kazan's production of "TEA and SYMPATHY" at the Nixon Theatre beginning December 13th, 1954 ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
