    This is a rare souvenir program from the Pre-Broadway engagement
    of the "Sherlock Holmes" musical "BAKER STREET" at the O'Keefe Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (The Toronto tryout began January 20th, 1965 and ran through February 6th, 1965. The production would open February 16th, 1965 at
    the Broadway Theatre in New York City
    and run for 311 performances.) ..... The musical starred FRITZ WEAVER, MARTIN GABEL and INGA SWENSON and featured PETER SALLIS, PATRICK HORGAN, MARTIN WOLFSON, PADDY EDWARDS, TEDDY GREEN, DANIEL KEYES, JAY NORMAN and dancer and future director/ choreographer TOMMY TUNE (in his Broadway debut) ..... DETAILS: The oversized 36 page program measures 11 3/8" X 11 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, photos and bios of each of the leading actors and members of the creative team, extensive text on the production, Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and WILLIAM GILLETTE (who portrayed "Sherlock Holmes" at the turn of the nineteenth century) and several pages of black and white photos of scenes from the production ..... PLEASE NOTE: The scanned pages have been cropped due to the limitations of my scanner. The margins are considerably wider than shown ..... CONDITION: With the exception of the date (January 30, 1965) written on the front cover and minor curling to the outside edge, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
