Description
This is a rare November 25th, 1920 program (playbill) from the three-night, out-of-town tryout of the obscure musical revue "VOGUES and VANITIES" at the Parsons Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut with songs by GEORGE GERSHWIN, GEORGE W. MEYER, WILLIAM M. DALY and VINCENT YOUMANS. (Originally the production was titled "HERE and THERE" when it opened on tour September 27th, 1920. The title was changed briefly to "VOGUES and VANITIES" before settling on "PICCADILLY TO BROADWAY". The production closed out-of-town.) ..... The cast included JOHNNY DOOLEY, ANNA WHEATON, WILLIAM KENT, EDITH HALLOR, CLIFTON WEBB, ROBERT EMMETT KEANE, HELEN BRODERICK, EVELYN LAW, LESTER CRAWFORD and MAURICE DIAMOND. The Ladies of the Ensemble included MARGERY MORRISON, JACQUELINE HUNTER, GRACE JONES, LILLIAN MITCHELL, HELEN CRAWFORD, VIOLET VALE, MABEL HASTINGS, BERNICE DEWEY, BETTY WALSH, NAN RAINSFORD, JOSEPHINE ROLFE, CAROL YOUNG, HELEN HERENDEEN, PATRICIA HOPE and LOUISE SAUNDERS ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a stain in the lower left corner, a torn corner to the cover and minor edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian .....
