This is a rare April 29th, 1942 (Opening Night) playbill from the Original Broadway production of the WILLIAM ROOS comedy "THE LIFE OF REILLY" at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. (The production opened April 29th, 1942 and closed after only five performances.) ..... The play starred GLENDA FARRELL and the cast included GEORGE MATHEWS, JOHN CALL, NORMAN TOKAR, PETER HOBBS, LEN HOLLISTER, FRANCIS NIELSEN, JOHN SHELLIE, LORING SMITH, THEODORA BENDER, CHARITA BAUER, GUERITA DONNELLY, POLLY WALTERS and HOWARD SMITH ..... CREDITS: Book by WILLIAM ROOS; Sets designed by SAMUEL LEVE; Directed by ROY HARGRAVE; Produced by DAY TUTTLE and HARALD BROMLEY ..... DETAILS: The 18 page playbill measures 6 3/4" X 9 1/4" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising (including full page ads for Schaefer Beer and Ruppert Knickerbocker Beer) but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of rusted staples, a small mark on the left edge of the cover and light creasing at the top, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
