This is a rare February 4th, 1953 programme (playbill) from Donald Wolfit's Season of SHAKESPEARE and SOPHOCLES at the King's Theatre, Hammersmith in East London. The current season opened with Sophocles' "OEDIPUS" from February 4th through 14th, 1953, followed with productions of Shakespeare's "As You Like It", "King Lear", "Twelfth Night", "The Merchant of Venice" and "Macbeth" ..... The company included the future Nobel Prize winning playwright HAROLD PINTER, then 22 years-old, in one of his earliest professional acting roles.
