    This is a rare ticket envelope with two loose ticket stubs from the August 24th, 1945 performance of the Original Broadway production of the LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN and ADOLPH GREEN musical comedy "ON THE TOWN" at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City. (The show opened December 28th, 1944 the Adelphi Theatre in New York City, moved to the 46th Street Theatre on June 4th, 1945 and settled into the Martin Beck Theatre on July 30th, 1945, running for a combined 462 performances.) ..... This production launched the careers of several individuals who would be instrumental in shaping the future of the Broadway musical: LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN, ADOLPH GREEN and JEROME ROBBINS. The musical starred SONO ASATO and NANCY WALKER and featured BETTY COMDEN, ADOLPH GREEN, JOHN BATTLES, CRIS ALEXANDER, ROBERT CHISHOLM, RAY HARRISON and ZAMAH CUNNINGHAM ..... CONDITION: The envelope was torn open at the top and shows light creasing, otherwise this set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
