    Description

This is a rare June 2001 playbill from the World Premiere engagement of the JASON ROBERT BROWN musical "THE LAST FIVE YEARS" at the Northlight Theatre in Skokie, Illinois. (The Original Off-Broadway production would open March 3rd, 2002 at New York's Minetta Lane Theatre and run for two months, closing May 5th, 2002.) ..... With a beautiful score by the Tony Award winning JASON ROBERT BROWN ("Parade" 1999), the musical starred NORBERT LEO BUTZ as "Jamie" and LAUREN KENNEDY as "Cathy" ..... Loosely based on JASON ROBERT BROWN's own failed first marriage, the show is a two-character musical which tells the history of a relationship from two different perspectives. The male's narrative begins at the beginning of the story and progresses through marriage, infidelity, and divorce, while the female narrative begins at the end of the relationship and ends with the couple's first date; the two actors' only direct interaction takes place mid-point, during the wedding sequence ..... CREDITS: Book, Music and Lyrics by JASON ROBERT BROWN ("Parade", "Songs for a New World", "The Last 5 Years", "Urban Cowboy", "13"); Sets and Costumes designed by BEOWULF BORITT; Directed by DAISY PRINCE; Produced by B. J. JONES and RICHARD FRIEDMAN ..... DETAILS: The 28 page playbill measures 5 3/8" X 8 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and bios of each of the actors and members of the creative team as well as individual photos of the two stars. Includes an interview with composer JASON ROBERT BROWN and director DAISY PRINCE, conducted by producer and artistic director B. J. JONES ..... CONDITION: This playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
