    This is a rare June 1st, 1947 "Stagebill" playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the VERA CASPARY and GEORGE SKLAR play "LAURA" at the Harris Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. (The production would open June 26th, 1947 at the Cort Theatre in New York City and close after only 44 performances.) ..... The play starred OTTO KRUGER, K. T. STEVENS and HUGH MARLOWE and featured TOM WALSH, TOM RUTHERFORD, GRANIA O'MALLEY, KAY MacDONALD and WALTER RIEMER ..... CREDITS: Book by VERA CASPARY and GEORGE SKLAR from the novel by VERA CASPARY; Sets designed by STEWART CHANEY; Costumes designed by ROBERT LANZA; Directed by CLARENCE DERWENT; Produced by H. CLAY BLANEY in association with S. P. and ROY P. STECKLER ..... DETAILS: The 20 page playbill measures 6 3/4" X 9 1/4" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre or dance aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
