This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the first Post-Broadway engagement of the RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical comedy "OKLAHOMA!" at the Opera House in Boston, Massachusetts beginning May 31st, 1948. (The Broadway production opened March 31st, 1943 at the St. James Theatre in New York City and closed May 29th, 1948 after 2212 performances, becoming the longest running musical in Broadway history.) ..... The Original Cast included ALFRED DRAKE, JOAN ROBERTS, BETTY GARDE, HOWARD da SILVA, CELESTE HOLM, JOSEPH BULOFF, LEE DIXON, RALPH RIGGS, MARC PLATT, OWEN MARTIN, KATHARINE SERGAVA, VLADIMIR KOSTENKO, JOAN McCRACKEN, KATE FRIEDLICH and BAMBI LINN, however this handbill does not mention any cast members by name .....
