    This is a rare August 10th, 1953 souvenir program from the one-week, Civic Light Opera production of the MOSS HART, KURT WEILL and IRA GERSHWIN musical "LADY IN THE DARK" at Pitt Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (The Original Broadway production opened January 23rd, 1941 at the Alvin Theatre in New York and ran for 162 performances before taking a summer hiatus and brief tour. The show returned to the Alvin Theatre September 2nd, 1941 for an additional 305 performances.) ..... The musical starred BILLIE WORTH and featured nineteen year-old SHIRLEY MAE JONES (shown in the fourth scanned image) in one of her earliest roles, FRED HARPER, OLIVE REEVES SMITH, LEE BERGERE, WILLIAM MARTEL, PHILIP CARLYLE, NINA KORDA, ARLYNE FRANK, GEORGIANN JOHNSON, GEORGE BALLIS, TRUDY MILES, ERMINE DASPIT, GLORIA CUTTING, BARBARA GEARY, LEONARD CEELEY, JEAN BLACK, VICTOR CLARKE, EDWIN HOLLEMAN, KATHLEEN FOSTER, ALMA LIND, ADRIENNE STRATHEARN and J. C. McCORD ..... Side Note: Nineteen year-old SHIRLEY JONES was crowned Miss Pittsburgh the previous year and had appeared in several productions at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Within a few months, Miss Jones would sign a contract with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and join the chorus of
