This is a rare November 14th, 1958 programme (playbill) from the Pre-London engagement of the landmark ARTHUR LAURENTS, LEONARD BERNSTEIN and STEPHEN SONDHEIM musical "WEST SIDE STORY" at the Opera House in Manchester, England. (The Original Broadway production opened September 26th, 1957 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and ran for 732 performances. The London production would open December 12th, 1958 at Her Majesty's Theatre and run for 1039 performances.) ..... The musical starred CHITA RIVERA, MARLYS WATTERS, DON McKAY, KEN LE ROY and GEORGE CHAKIRIS and featured EDDIE ROLL, TONY MORDENTE, SYLVIA TYSICK, ED VERSO, DAVID BAUER, TED GUNTHER and HAL GALILI .....
