This is a rare program (playbill) from the week of April 8th, 1923 for the vaudeville bill at the PALACE MUSIC HALL in Chicago, Illinois ..... One of this week's headliners was FANNIE BRICE (third scanned image), who was between appearances in the "Ziegfeld Follies". FANNY BRICE signed with the Orpheum Circuit to tour for four months beginning March 26th, 1923 at the Orpheum Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. The tour included stops in Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, San Francisco and Los Angeles, closing with a return engagement to Chicago's Palace Music Hall from July 8th to 28th, 1923. Also on the bill were the Popular French Comedians YOST & GLADY "Artistic Comedy Clay Modelling"; RAY & EDNA TRACY in "Piano Eccentricities"; HOWARD LANGFORD and INA FREDERICK in "Shopping"; WILL MAHONEY in "Why Be Serious"; BOBBY McLEAN, World's Greatest Ice Skater in "Tons Of Ice" (assisted by Edna Blue, James Burke and Jim Waters); VERNE BUCK and his Merry Garden Orchestra; AL HERMAN "The Black Laugh", The Assassin of Grief and Remorse and the FLYING HENRYS "Sensational Aerialists" ..... DETAILS: The twelve page program measures 5 1/8" X 8 1/2" inches and includes production credits, list of entertainers, schedule of upcoming attractions and wonderful vintage advertising, but no photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of two names written in pencil at the top of the cover, moderate creasing and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian .....
