    This is a rare February 15th, 1965 playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the new NEIL SIMON comedy "THE ODD COUPLE" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production would open March 8th, 1965 at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City and run for 966 performances.) ..... The play starred the late ART CARNEY and WALTER MATTHAU (both shown in the cover photo) and featured NATHANIEL FREY, PAUL DOOLEY, CAROLE SHELLEY, MONICA EVANS, SIDNEY ARMUS and JOHN FIEDLER ..... Side Note: "THE ODD COUPLE" was honored with four Tony Awards including WALTER MATTHAU's "Best Actor in a Play" ..... CREDITS: Book by NEIL SIMON; Sets designed by OLIVER SMITH; Costumes designed by ANN ROTH; Directed by MIKE NICHOLS; Produced by SAINT SUBBER ..... DETAILS: The 54 page playbill measures 6" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and bios of each of the leading actors but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos. The playbill includes a full page illustration of JASON ROBARDS as "Puck", number 12 in the AL HIRSCHFELD series "Unlikely Casting" ..... CONDITION: This playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
